Hi! Aamir- Your name is derived from the Arabic expression
"emir", which was originally an entitlement of stature. The
double A is not proper and might be a modernization of its more
correct counterpart, Amir. Amir is also a name of Hebrew origin
denoting something at its ,01,2009 at 10:34 PMprecipice. The "top of a tree" is
undoubtedly used in expressing someone's stature in life or in
faith. They are spelled the same, but are pronounced
differently.

The double aa is proper because in Arabic Amir is spelt 'alif', 'meem', 'yay' and 'ray'. And Aamir is spelt 'aian', 'alif', 'meem' and 'ray'. I have left out the accents.

yes I can read Arabic. But I dont understand it. My parents made sure we read the Koran in Arabic when we were kids.

نعم أستطيع قراءة اللغة العربية. لكني لا افهمها جيدا . والدي علمنا قراءة القرآن باللغة العربية عندما كنا أطفالا.
