'Action Replay'


The Akshay Kumar â Vipul Shah Jodi is all ready to strike again. The duo started with AANKHEN, followed it up with WAQT â RACE AGAINST TIME and then NAMASTEY LONDON. The combination is now involved in SINGH IS KINNG, being helmed by WELCOME director Anees Bazmee.

Meanwhile, Vipul has almost completed the script of his next film -- which he will direct himself -- with Akshay once again. Itâs titled ACTION REPLAY. âBut itâs not an action film,â Akshay corrects me, sounding excited at the idea of working with one of his favourites once again.

However, thereâs a possibility that Vipul might opt for a Hindi title for the film. âThe English title [ACTION REPLAY] gives an impression that itâs a hardcore action film, which it isnât. Also, English titles have their limitations in the heartland. People identify more with a Hindi title,â Vipul explains his point of view. I agree!

Meanwhile, Vipul will finalize the balance cast and crew in a few days from now!

‘Action replay’ for Ash-Akki

After Khakhee, the duo will be seen in Vipul Shah’s new film.

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai will team up again in the forthcoming film Action Replay. They last came together for Rajkumar Santoshi’s Khakee, which released over four years back. Arjun Rampal has also been signed for this Vipul Shah project. The team will begin shooting in February next year.

“Undoubtedly, Akshay is Vipul’s favourite. But this time he wanted to cast Ash opposite him. Katrina was definitely on the list but Ash was the first choice,” says a source.

The insider adds, “Action Replay will combine a contemporary setting with a period look where Mumbai of the 1950s will be recreated. Nitin Desai will do the set design. He will replicate the time period by constructing roads, cars and houses over six acres of land in his Karjat studio.”
