Madhuri Dixit made a humble beginning with the Rajshris. The film was called Abodh (1984) and had the then Tollywood (Kolkata) superstar Tapash Pal cast as her hero.




Dayavaan (1988) in which she had Vinod Khanna as her co-star made headlines because of the famous 'kiss'.




Subhash Ghai re-introduced her in Ram Lakhan. The film succeeded in exposing Madhuri's beauty and people dubbed her as the reincarnation of Madhubala.




N.Chandra's Tezaab was Madhuri's first big hit. Thanks to Ek, do, teen... and Saroj Khan of course.



Parinda was the first realistic gangster film in Hindi cinema, which was supported by a great cast of Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit.



Dil opposite Aamir Khan fetched Madhuri her first Filmfare award.



Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri allegedly started seeing each other on the sets of Saajan.



After watching Beta, many thought that the movie should have been named Beti instead.



Madhuri's choli ke peechey number was an instant hit.



Her didi tera devar deewana made people go mad after Mads.



Madhuri proved her prowess as an actress yet again in this Prakash Jha film and stole the limelight from veteran actors like Shaban Azmi.




Madhuri won her filmfare for her role as a talented dancer in this Yash Chopra film




Mads found another fan in Mr M F Hussain.



Her post marriage film Devdas was chosen as India's official entry to the Oscars in 2002.
