Akshay Kumar gets insured for 50 crores
Akshay Kumar has become the most expensive celebrity when it comes to insurance cover. The superstar carries a tag of whopping 50 crores, and thus has left Indian cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli behind in the league of highest insurance cover.
While Virat is a clear winner in the cricket arena with 35 cores of insurance shield, M S Dhoni and England cricketer Kevin Pieterson share a common amount of 30 crores each as insurance wrap. Coming back to Akshay, it was actually director Prabhu Deva’s idea to get actor insured as he has taken many risks to do unsafe stunts which can be fatal, in 'Rowdy Rathore'.
Though the very notion of getting insured is new to tinsel town, but filmmakers like Yash Raj and Karan Johar have joined the bandwagon by getting an insurance cover for their films and actors. The star cast of Luck, namely, Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and Shruti Haasan were last heard of being insured for a dangerous scene in the film at Namibia.
On an individual level, though, celebs like John Abraham and Mallika Sherawat have insured their butts and body for 10 and 50 crores respectively.
