Whoever thought mothers will ever need to refer a book to give the best to the kids? Well, for the Generation-X of supermoms it seems just the right thing to do, if the crowd of enthusiastic young mothers at the launch of Rina Mehta’s Navneet Mumbai Mum’s Guide was any indication. The book, launched at Crossword, had police commissionser Ronnie Mendonca and Gauri Khan, the pretty wife of super star Shahrukh Khan, who introduced it in style. The book lists playschools, schools, various courses and classes, fun stuff like organising parties….So when they get too much to handle, you know what to do.

Date Of Birth: 8th October,1970 Husband - Shah Rukh Khan. Married for 14 years, have two children named Aryan and Suhana A Hindu Punjabi girl from Delhi who studied at the prestigious Modern school, New Delhi. Shahrukh was 19 when he first met fourteen-year-old Gauri Chibber at a party. They became friends and started hanging out together. Gauri's parents were against the relationship but finally gave in. From Sobering the hyper Khan to putting together his wardrobe,keeping away from the arc lights to criticising her husbands perfomances,Gauri is the voice of reason behind the superstar's life.

THE PROPOSAL!

Shah Rukh: "We knew each other for 8 years,so it was understood that we would marry.I just remember telling her I love You.I didnt even date her like you normally do.Shes the only girl I've ever really known...I remember dropping her home,telling her i wanted to marry her,not waiting for her response and just driving off!"

Gauri: "I have known Shahrukh for two decades now.It all seems like a dream like I've known him forever.It happened so young and gradual that we didnt think for a moment that we would not marry".

Shah Rukh: "I believe that not only is she the stabilizing factor of my life but the only factor of my life.I know for a fact that no one could love Gauri the way i loved her and this gives me tremendous confidence"

Gauri:" Slowly,Shah Rukh managed to win over each and every member of my family.And once my folks got to know him,they started liking him.Finally,they were convinced that Shah Rukh was right for me."

Gauri :" I don't need to fell insecure.I have this little prayer that I say to God: 'If Shah Rukh were to find somebody else...please find me a guy too'! Really I mean it.If he were to come upto me and said that he has found someone else.I would never ask him to come back for me."

REALITY CHECK!

Shah Rukh :"When i saw Gauri in hospital for Aryan's delivery,they had stuck her with tubes and stuff.She was becoming delirious and really cold.I went with her to the operation theatre for her Caesarean.And (takes a deep breath) I thought she'd die.Only SHE was inportant at that point of time"

Gauri:"He doesnt bring his work or problems home.He tries to spend a lot of time with his family.For him,I always come first.I've never bees sad or unhappy r suspicious that Shahrukh is doing something behind my back.I am glad he is an exception to the rule of star husbands nt been faithful to their wives."

OBSESSED!

Shah Rukh:"I am shocked when I am told that ladies find me sexy,Whenever I ask my family if they think i am sexy,they either have this funny expression on their faces or just burst put laughing."

Gauri:"I do tell Shahrukh that he has gone overboard.But that doesnt mean i don't appreciate his wok.The world tells Shah RUkh what he wants to hear,I tell him things he needs to.Like the movie Shakti was obnoxious for starters.And yes,I didn't think Shah Rukh was any great shakes either."

Shah Rukh: "At times when she is out somewhere.I feel theres nothing without Gauri.No house,no life,no stardom,no children,no happiness without her.I cannot say she's my support pillar or strength either.Aryan and suhana wouldn't be around without Gauri.I can't explain the happiness when they are around.It's wonderful and ats all because of Gauri."

Gauri:"I know exactly what Shah RUkh is doing.Of Course,there are a lot of women who don't know what their husbands are upto.I know what i can expect from him,what he can do for me,what he has done for me and the kind of respect he has for me."

THEIR SUPER KIDS

Shah Rukh:"Home is where children and Gauri are.When I see Aryan or Suhana,i see purity and spointaneity.Untouched by commerce,untained by envy even as an actor.I grow simply by watching them.The truth is I don't want to be this famous but absentee father.I want my children to flower under my care...I get involved in all their activities,even drop them at school.The children look like Gauri but thank God they have my brains."

GAuri:"Now,Shahrukh thinks twice before an outdoor shoot.He has cut down on his work and double shifts are completely out.He is crazy about the children,obssessed with fatherhood because for one he sees less of them ans secondly Shah Rukh is full of energy which I am not,He can talk dance,play with them endlessly.Aryan cannot sleep without him.Shah Rukh has to spend 2 hours with him every night."

Shah Rukh:"I have no problems with my image as a sensitive man devoted to his wife and children.I get hurt when people spred rumours on how faithful or unfaithful I am to my wife.I have never hidden my relationship with my wife,infact I flaunt it.I want to grow old with the woman I have married,and i take my responsibility as a Dad very seriously.Whenever I fail as a husband or a father,a toy or a diamond always works"

Thank you for the article. Shah Rukhji is amazing, Mashallah. His devotion and faithfulness for his wife and children makes me to love him even more and more. There is no one like him..
