What was your equation with Kareena?
As a matter of fact I got along very well with her! She was very close to me for about a year. I used to chat with her quite often. However, whatever I had with her, kind of drifted apart later. I have no angst against her whatsoever. Today if I find her in the same room as me, I won’t hesitate to talk to her.
Shahid is often addressed as a ‘lone ranger’ in media these days.
He doesn’t need to be treated like that! He is gem of a person. He is humble, hard-working and extremely caring. Even as a teenager, he never indulged in drinking or partying like his fellow friends would do. Any woman who gets Shahid would be the luckiest woman on earth and I am not saying this because he is my son. People who know him well will second my opinion.
You are making a debut as a filmmaker soon?
Yes, my film is going to be satire, very tongue-in-cheek, hilarious... nobody has ever made a film like that. The film makes a statement about people’s generosity as people from all walks of life get together. I am a dancer, poet and actor and my film will replicate my attributes. The film is commercial, finely made and will appeal to the classes and masses.
