Happy Birthday Madhuri Dixit! The Bollywood beauty turned 42 (May 15th). Madhuri Shankar Dixit was born in Mumbai and aspired to be a microbiologist. She ended up however making her film debut at age 17 in "Abodh" however her first major hit was "Tezaab." From then on there would be no looking back for Madhuri, she would continue to push out hit after hit like "Beta," "Saajan," and the 1994 blockbuster "Hum Aapke Hain Koun." Being classically trained in Kathak, Madhuri Dixit would become one of the greatest dancers in Indian films.
In her personal life she stepped out of the limelight to get married to Doctor Sriram Madhav, the two have been going strong since 1999. Madhuri Dixit has two sons and now lives in Denver, Colorado. Over the years she has made her way back to the spotlight, namely in the 2002 blockbuster film "Devdas" which starred Madhuri along with Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Madhuri's last film was "Aaja Nachle" from 2007 which did poorly.
However the critics couldn't stop her from acting and she has reportedly agreed to work with director Prakash Jha on his latest venture. This will be the second time they're teaming up, Madhuri and Prakash worked together previously in "Mrityudand." Their latest film is said to be about a young man who has fallen in love with an older woman, played by Madhuri. And who would be playing the young man you ask? Ranbir Kapoor of course. As for her birthday, she won't be throwing a superstar bash, she's just going to stay home and spend some time with her sons.
Looks like at 42 Madhuri Dixit is still going strong.
