It is holiday time for Bollywood stars

Following the New Year celebrations, several Bollywood stars are cooling their heels before plunging back into work.

The first Friday of Bollywood hardly sees any major release because of the infamous January Jinx. Even in the shooting studios there is comparatively lesser work because actors prefer to holiday at this time of the year.

That is precisely what some of them are doing before beginning to shoot their respective films.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have left for Greece to spend some time together before beginning to shoot another schedule of Yashraj Films’ Tashan there. Though the shooting schedule will begin from Monday, the couple left for Greece three days in advance to holiday together.

The same goes for Deepika Padukone , who recently flew to Australia to spend quality time and celebrate her birthday (today) with cricketer and “good friend” Yuvraj Singh. She will holiday with Yuvi in Sydney before beginning to shoot director Siddharth Anand’s film there early next week.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu might have been enjoying the safari rides in Kenya had the recent riots and violence in the African country not forced them to cancel their trip and change their holiday destination. Now, the couple is holidaying in India and they have not disclosed the destination to anyone. They will also be celebrating Bipasha’s birthday together on January 7. After this holiday, Bipasha, too, would begin shooting for Siddharth Anand’s film.

Now, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are set to fly to London soon. Salman will go there at the end of the second week of January to unveil his wax statue at Madame Tussaud’s Museum. However, Katrina will be flying to London (probably with her mom and sister Isabelle) to be with her sister Christina who had a baby recently.

Akshay Kumar took wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav to the Caribbean Islands for an extended vacation stretching from New Year’s eve to the first few weeks of January. Preity Zinta also went to holiday in Phuket.

And then there are those for whom work comes before anything. Ajay Devgan is busy nowadays doing the post-production work – editing – of his first film as a director, U Me Aur Hum . Priyanka Chopra , too, is said to be in Bangkok to shoot a commercial for a beauty soap.[/align]

Salman Khan and girlfriend Katrina Kaif continue to be in a holiday mood. The much-in-love couple dropped in at a Bandra coffee bar earlier this week, while on their way back after Salman’s extended birthday celebrations. The actor, who ushered in his 42nd birthday with an extravagant bash at his farm house in Panvel, was accompanied by Katrina’s sister Isabelle and another male friend. The foursome looked completely at ease despite the attention they attracted from other guests and ordered for coffee - Americano (black coffee) and Cappuccino.

Salman, who is a regular at the coffee bar, exchanged greetings with the staffers before settling down for a chat with his friends. Their conversation veered from holidays to films to mega-starrer films releasing this year.

The actor was discussing his forthcoming films - Yuvraaj and Wanted, when his male friend added that Yuvraaj will be one of the biggest films. Khan reacted by saying that his films were always talked about, but people hardly watch it. Katrina, who also stars in Yuvraaj, was left amused by her boyfriend’s remarks and assured him that the film will do well.

An eye witness recounts, “Katrina, her sister Isabelle, Salman and a male friend were sipping coffee on Wednesday. The couple looked very much in love.”
