2000 : The year brought her everything she has ever desired in life, the most recurring dream from the past six years has come true and it was the wining of the Miss India World title and later she became Miss World as well. The same year she became the part of Indian history where in all the three winners of Miss India contest won their respective titles internationally viz. Miss World, Miss Universe( Lara Dutta), Miss Asia Pacific (Dia Mirza) for the first time.
2002: After that she decided to became and actress. Her first film was a Tamil film Thamizhan and then moved to bollywood.
2003: The Hero: Love Story of a Spy was her debut film in bollywood and she got great reviews. Though the film did not worked great at the box office but managed to do a good business. Her next release, Andaaz was a success and win her a Filmfare Best Debut Award. Her next few film could not do well at the box office
2004: Her film Mujhse Shaadi Karoge was a big commercial success and she proclaimed high opinion from the critics.Her next release Aitraaz was all the more fruitful for her and she won the Filmfare Best Villain Award.The same year she did a vary successful world tour “Temptations 2004″ with Bollywood’s leading stars, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal.
2005: Though she did many movies this year but none of them could do any magic at the box office apart from creating appreciation of her work. Blackmail, Yakeen Barsaat, Karam all of thses were a failure at the box office however Waqt: The Race Against Time & Bluffmaster were semi-hits.
2006: This year was even more lucky this year as she was the part of the blockbuster hits of the year –Krrish and Don - The Chase Begins Again.
2007: Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute To Love was her first release of the year, but the movie could not do well at the box office. This failure was followed by her next release Big Brother.
