Aamir enjoys dinner with ex-wife and kids
While news about Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao being on the verge of a split (some say they already have!) gets stronger by the day, the actor has other ideas. No, we are not talking about the shooting plans of Aamir's GHAJINI remake but about his personal matters, regarding his ex-wife Reena and kids.
Aamir Khan was recently spotted having a cosy dinner with Reena and kids Junaid and Aira. According to sources, the venue was a 5-star hotel in the suburbs of Mumbai. Aamir looked very happy and was laughing a lot at the jokes being cracked by his charming daughter Aira, though Reena did not seem as amused.
We just wonder what was being served (rather ****ing!) on the dinner table between Aamir, Reena, Junaid and Aira, especially in view of the latest development regarding Kiran Rao.

Ameesha Patel takes it easy
Ameesha Patel is taking it easy. In fact, the girl is taking it very easy. With just HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD released this year; she is in no hurry to prove anything. There are a few releases lined up for this year but she is in no mood to speak as yet. Meanwhile she is enjoying her state of relative bliss. And yes, she has some plans to bring in her birthday, which is next month (is it going to be celebrated abroad like last year with boyfriend Vikram Bhatt?) No, she is not giving out any details!

Bidding for OM SHANTI OM touches 55 crores?
While most Shah Rukh Khan starrers get sold for a huge amount, the prices being offered for his home banner venture OM SHANTI OM seem to be creating a new record.
If the buzz in the distribution circles is to be believed, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, being directed by Farah Khan, has been offered close to 55 crores. The whopping price is for the worldwide distribution along with satellite, audio and home video rights, for 10 years. It is a three way competition between a top production and distribution house, the North India distributors of the recent hit NAMASTEY LONDON, Studio 18 and a leading satellite channel.
For those who may not know, the previous record for all the above mentioned rights stands in the name of Nikhil Advani's multistarrer SALAAM-E-ISHQ and the amount on that occasion was about 45 crores.
If the deal goes through, the 15 crore OM SHANTI OM will not only set a new record but in the bargain producer Shah Rukh Khan will make a cool table profit of 40 crores!

Finally...a smiling Reshammiya in AKS
AAP KAA SURROOR is the film with which Himesh Reshammiya promises to give a tell tale account about his 'real' love life. So much has he involved himself in the cinematic version of his story that ever since the film's promos came out, Himesh has mainly been seen in a mood that fluctuates between being sober and sad. Not that his fans have minded his facial expressions and mannerisms but from a core Hindi film, one expected some fun and 'naach-gaana' to be happening on the screen as well to add on further spice to the proceedings.
Well, Himesh has finally shed his serious tag as acquired during the promos of 'Tanhaiyaan', 'Tera Mera Milna' and 'Assalaam Walekum' and has got into a wide grin with the latest song on air - 'Jhooth Nahi Bolna'.
A pure Bollywood romantic track which features Reshammiya shaking a leg or two with his co-star Hansika Motwani [now rechristened Ria] and a horde of dancers alongside him, 'Jhooth Nahi Bolna' is instantly catchy with a certain Indian feel about it that makes it entertaining in the very first hearing.
Rendered by Reshammiya (are you surprised?) who sings along with Shreya Ghoshal, 'Jhooth Nahi Bolna' boasts of an extensive use of 'tabla' and 'ghunghroo' which reminds one of the Nadeem Shravan score of the mid-90s. But guess no one is complaining at all, as long as Reshammiya is dancing and smiling with his baseball cap and trademark jacket intact!

MAIN, MERI PATNI...director edits Big B's film
Remember the delightful MAIN, MERI PATNI AUR WOH [2005] that starred Rajpal Yadav and Rituparna Sengupta in the lead? Directed by Chandan Arora, whose debut directorial venture was Rajpal Yadav-Antara Mali starrer MAIN MADHURI DIXIT BANNA CHAHTI HOON, the film was a sweet little surprise success.
Chandan, who had started his career as an editor, is back with his scissors for CHEENI KUM, which is all set for release on May 25th. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu and Paresh Rawal as the three lead protagonists along with veteran Zohra Sehgal, CHEENI KUM is a yet another delightful lighthearted film in the offering this summer that is all set to make you smile.
Producer Sunil Manchanda [whose last release was SALAAM E ISHQ] and director Balki have shown faith in Chandan Arora to come up with yet another winning act for his chopping act in the editing room.
Considering the fact that the film has its central protagonist (Amitabh Bachchan) as a chef whose prime job involves chopping, it would be worthy to see how Chandan compliments the act!

Abhishek and Rani to shoot together, next month
Rani Mukerjee and Abhishek Bachchan have worked in many films out of which two standout. One is YUVA, which for the first time gave Abhi a lot of critical acclaim and BUNTY AUR BABLI, which was a big commercial success. Therefore, a lot is expected from their upcoming Yash Raj film, LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG.
When the Pradeep Sarkar directed movie was launched last year, the general impression given was that Abhishek had a full-fledged role in it. But it came as a shocker when one fine day it was announced that Abhishek only plays a cameo in LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG. The reason being given - It is a women centric film that has Rani, Konkona Sen Sharma and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles.
The grapevine has another story, according to which, good friend Aditya 'all powerful' Chopra is miffed at Yash Raj’s first lady, Rani being left out of the Abhi-Ash marriage and Preity being given the center stage. And that may have contributed to Abhishek's role becoming a cameo!
However, we are not here to delve into or probe why Abhishek is now playing a cameo in LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG. In fact we have an interesting bit of information according to which Abhishek has most of his scenes in LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG with Rani and the two are almost certain to shoot together next month, June 11 to be precise, once Abhishek returns from his honeymoon.
We just wonder what the atmosphere would be like as the two will meet for the first time after Abhishek’s marriage to Aishwarya Rai, though Rani has maintained a dignified silence about her exclusion from the high profile marriage and has wished the newlyweds all the best.

Well this one makes quite a picture. Capturing some of the biggest stars like Shah Rukh, Salman, Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan in the same frame is something only a few directors get to achieve. With a friend like Shah Rukh things definitely get simplified for the choreographer turned director Farah Khan.
The picture above was shot during a dance sequence for Farah’s upcoming film Om Shanti Om starring Shah Rukh and model turned actress Deepika Padukone. And if you thought this was it, well then you are in for some surprise. The song sequence not only stars the four hunky actors but 30 more superstars like Karisma Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, Shilpa Shetty, Tabu, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Urmila Matondkar, Rekha, Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Juhi Chawla, Amrita Arora, Zayed Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Dino Morea, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, Mithun Chakraborty, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Tusshar Kapoor, Govinda, Suniel Shetty and Bobby Deol.
With a line up of the best of the industry shaking their leg together the film is going to be quite a must watch with a star studded item number and some power packed performances.
Aap Kaa Surroor music released in Pakistan
This is for the first time that the music of an Indian film has been released in Pakistan. Himesh Reshammiya’s debut film Aap Ka Surroor, is the first Indian film that has released in Pakistan and is doing extremely well overseas.
Says an elated Himesh, “This will be first Hindi film album that has been permitted for release across the border. The album is my tribute to RD Burman, and boasts names like Asha Bhosle, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Shreya Ghosal."

The shehnai was replaced by the nadaswaram at the wedding of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, with a four-member team of musicians from here playing traditional tunes with a south Indian flavour selected by the bride.
The team was informed it would have to play at a marriage in Mumbai, but was kept in the dark till almost the last minute whose wedding it would be performing at.
When the team comprising Mylai P Muruganandam, Mylai S Mohanraj, P C Rajarathinam and RM Dakshinamoorthy learnt it would be playing at the nuptials of Abhishek and Aishwarya on April 20, it was a sweet surprise for them.
The nadaswaram is a wind instrument played in south India during auspicious occasions and the suggestion that it should replace the shehnai, associated with north Indian weddings, came from none other than the bride.
"It was not till two days before the marriage that we knew we were going to play the nadaswaram and thavil," said lead musician Muruganandam.
He said it still had not sunk in for him that he had performed at the high-profile but private event that was extensively covered by the media.
Clad in dhoti-kurta and en route to a performance, Muruganandam said his team was chosen thanks to Mylapore Balavinayagar and singer Kalyani Menon.
"We play regularly at a temple and that is how she came to know of us and called us for an audition, where we managed to impress her," he said.
The team's "Thodi Ragam" did the trick and landed them at the Bachchan residence Pratheeksha in Mumbai.
Aishwarya had heard the "Mangala Vathiyam" in a south Indian wedding and desired the same music to be played when she tied the knot with her beau.
At least, that is what Muruganandam and Mohanraj believe. "We were informed that it was she who wanted a south Indian flavour to her marriage," Mohanraj said.
And when the big moment came, the music took control. "We played for about one-and-half hours and started off with the customary 'Vathapi Ganapathy'," Muruganandam said.

Sunny Deol throws his own CHALLENGE
Now this is just not fair!
Just when Sunny Deol is standing at a crucial juncture of his career with two big films of his releasing within a space of four weeks, an age old film of his is threatening to loom large in the month of May.
Come June 01 and a brand new exciting film of his, FOOL N FINAL, would be seeing a global release. Four weeks later, i.e. on June 29th, he is expected to create fire works once again as he comes together with director Anil 'Gadar' Sharma who brings the entire Deol family on screen for the first time ever in APNE.
With films boasting of such good credentials, it is imperative to expect a lot happening for Sunny this summer. But ironically this is the time period that producer-director KC Bokadia has chosen for the release of his film THE CHALLENGE that was made around 4-5 years back.
Co-starring Tabu, Farida Jalal, Ashish Vidyarthi and Govind Namdeo, THE CHALLENGE is one of those many films that Sunny had signed in the wake of success of GADAR - EK PREM KATHA. In the film, Sunny plays a Muslim character by the name of Hussain who is a truck driver by profession and gets caught in the web of deceit, conspiracy and back stabbing as he ends up being labeled as a terrorist.

The film has come close to release number of times, especially last year, but it seems that now it would eventually release at theaters earlier than his two new films i.e. May 18th.
